Table Given NRC Performance Award


(Rockville, MD) — A table located in the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Public Document Room (NRC/PDR) has been given one of the agency's performance awards, the first time a piece of furniture has been so recognized.

The award, given for hosting a successful meeting between two Federal agencies, helped to further the agency's mission and its understanding of the origins of the universe.

"We are so proud of this table," said an NRC official, speaking on condition of anonymity. "It's not like we could find any actual employees that measured up in performance to this table. And it's this kind of representation by the furniture residing at NRC Headquarters that truly makes this the Best Place to Work in the Federal Government."

A commemorative plaque with the following words will be installed on the tabletop later this year:
